Terms of Use

Last updated 24 September 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Grooming Centre ("we", "us", "the platform"), governing your access to and use of this platform, including lodging complaints or cases, tracking their progress, and any account you register. By accessing, registering for, or submitting information through the platform, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

1. Eligibility and Capacity

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to register an account or submit a case in your own name. If you are submitting on behalf of another person or an organisation — for example as a legal representative, trustee, guardian or authorised officer — you confirm that you have the lawful authority to do so and to disclose that person's or entity's information to us for the purposes described in these Terms.

2. The Service We Provide

The platform allows you to submit complaints, enquiries and related cases, to receive a reference number, and to track the status of a submission. We aim to keep the platform available and to acknowledge and route submissions in accordance with our internal service standards. We do not, however, guarantee any particular outcome, remedy, decision, or resolution timeframe for any case, and nothing on this platform constitutes legal, financial or professional advice.

3. Accounts and Credentials

Where you register an account, you agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us promptly at media@groomingcentre.org if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account or any other breach of security. We may suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe it has been compromised or used in breach of these Terms.

4. Accuracy of Submissions

You are responsible for the truthfulness, accuracy and completeness of everything you submit, including any supporting documents. Knowingly submitting false, misleading, defamatory or fraudulent information — or impersonating another person — is a serious misuse of this platform. It may result in your case being closed without action, your account being suspended or terminated, and, where applicable, referral to the relevant authorities.

5. Acceptable Use

When using the platform, you agree not to:

  • Break any applicable law or regulation, or infringe the rights of any other person.
  • Upload malware, or attempt to probe, scan, overload, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the platform, its infrastructure or any other user's data.
  • Use automated means to scrape, harvest or bulk-submit data without our prior written consent.
  • Submit content that is abusive, threatening, obscene, harassing, or discriminatory.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, copy or resell any part of the platform, except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by law.
6. Personal Data and Privacy

Our handling of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy and our NDPR Data Use Policy, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference. Where you provide sensitive identifiers such as a National Identification Number (NIN) or Tax Identification Number (TIN), you do so on the basis of the consent and lawful bases set out in those policies. You must only submit another person's personal data where you are authorised to do so.

7. Uploaded Content and Documents

You retain ownership of the documents and content you upload. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, reproduce and process that content solely for the purposes of receiving, investigating, resolving and recording your case, and for meeting our legal and regulatory obligations. We may remove content that breaches these Terms. Retention periods are set out in our data policies.

8. Case References and Communications

When a case is submitted, a reference number is issued and, where you supply an email address, sent to you. You are responsible for keeping that reference safe, as it may be required to track your case or to authenticate follow-up requests. We may contact you by email, telephone or through the platform in relation to your case and for service-related notices.

9. Availability, Maintenance and Changes

The platform is provided on an "as available" basis. Access may be interrupted for maintenance, upgrades, or reasons outside our reasonable control. We may add, modify, suspend or withdraw features at any time. Where a change materially affects how you use the platform, we will make reasonable efforts to give notice.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or anticipated savings, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the platform. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

11. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access where you breach these Terms, where required by law, or where necessary to protect the platform or other users. You may stop using the platform or request closure of your account at any time; closure does not affect our right or obligation to retain case records for the periods described in our data policies.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version takes effect when published on this page, and the "last updated" date above will change. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify registered users. Your continued use of the platform after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria shall have jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with them. Where any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.

14. Contact

Questions about these Terms may be directed to media@groomingcentre.org, or by post to Plot 120, Ikotun Egbe Road, Ejigbo, Isolo , Lagos State, Nigeria.
